We hope you are all doing well at this challenging time, and we’re thinking of you! We wanted to send an update on this year’s ride.
The ride is still on – with special health and safety protocols implemented. We know many of you are eager to get out and ride after all this time staying home to stay safe, and we are eager to see you this year! We are fortunate to be a small ride that is mostly outdoors in the open air.
WE ARE MOVING FORWARD!
While we make our preparations to move forward, there are some elements that are out of our control. We are at the mercy of the local governing entities who issue our event permits and we are still waiting for those to come through. Also, these are challenging times with Federal, State and local guidelines determining how we can all move about our days.
For the health and safety of our riders, our community and our volunteers, the ride will look just a little different this year.
We will still have all the yummy treats and support you’ve come to expect from the Art of Survival Century, plus the friendly volunteers and relaxing scenery. But we need your help to make this ride extra safe at this delicate time.
- Some items are challenging to dispense safely. Please consider bringing your own electrolytes if you use them on the ride.
- You will need a mask. We ask that all riders wear a mask when in proximity of other people, and commonly touched items such as porta potties. Please wear a mask every time you enter a food line or come near a food table, such as at a rest stop.
- Please keep your distance from others who are not in your traveling group. Step back and give space, and do not ride close by others.
- We will be asking riders to disperse to enjoy their meals. Fortunately there is plenty of room to spread out in all of our locations.
The safer we can keep everyone, the easier it will be for us to come back next year with gusto and a huge celebration!
ADDITIONAL NOTES
- The ride is one day only – Saturday, May 23. No gravel route this year.
- The Fairgrounds is open! You will be able to camp and use the facilities there.
- We will send an email to registered riders with additional info about the start line location and other important ride details as we know more.
- Other details about the ride are still being determined as we hear back from our regional partners. We will keep you posted along the way.
- Aid stations will be in slightly different locations than what is indicated on our online maps. We’ll have the course well marked, as always, so you don’t miss a stop.
And we are open to your ideas! If you have additional suggestions, please let us know.
We look forward to hearing from you and we are very excited to host you while in our area. We have a great committee ready and willing to welcome you to our area.
Blessings and all the best to you as you navigate these challenging times! After all it is THE ART OF SURVIVAL that gets us through every day.
